today was nice and full of food! taking a long-ass bus ride to the market only to scarf down scalding-hot tofu soup and run out to leave. hanging around your apartment and considering going out to do something, only to end up just sitting around more and then watching Juno and eating Hawaiian food. then, walking home witchu while eating a couple of donuts.
aaaand I just snorted hot tea up my nose. :D

It was pretty bright, up on the rainbow bridge tonight
I could see into your window although you're far away
You were racing in a car
Beside a boy, you just don't know if he is up for
What you have in mind
If he is up for what you have in mind
Change is on the cards, but this time it will be hard
But I never want to leave you
We've never had a fight
You should never split a pole
You should never split at all
I wish I had two paths that I could follow
I'd write the ending without any sorrow...
I will say a prayer, just while you are sitting there
And I will wrap my 'ands around you
cuz I know it will be fine.
We've got a fantasy affair
We didn't get wet, we didn't dare
Our aspirations are wrapped up in books
Our inclinations are hidden in looks
Summer's hastening on
I'm trying to get a feeling from the city
But I've been unfaithful
I've been travelling abroad
We've got a fantasy affair
We didn't get wet, we didn't dare
But the fantasy remains,
You better come back to earth again
Our aspirations, are wrapped up in books
Our inclinations--hidden in looks
why hello!
I don't write here at Vox as often as I used to (maybe? haha, it feels like it), mostly because I've been busy with school and apartment arrangements (OMG new apartment is so cute) and nobody reads this anyhow. also, I've been listening to yacht rock. a lot. tee hee.
....this entry is going to be a bit all over the place because I'm quite tired.....
but I've been pondering the mixing of races thing again as I've been doing all of that, comparing and contrasting my perspective since I've moved here and started going to school and looking around at the very different atmosphere that is Seattle. (people here are pretty overwhelmingly pro-Obama, which is really exciting. Tacoma (or Tahoma, don't fight with me about it =P), south of here, is--so I hear, I haven't looked this up--the "mixed marriage capital" of the US.)
I see a lot of people who appear to be couples--though I've generally become a bit less assumptive about people--who are one black, one white, or one Asian, one white. I'm [pleasantly] surprised at how many white/Asian couples are white women and Asian men.
it's so weird to think that so recently, just forty years ago, miscegenation laws were still around in the US. it's creepy for me to think about that, considering how much the US vilified Hitler and whatnot, and yet for twenty years after World War II the some states still enforced Nazi-esque, white supremacist laws about miscegenation, a pejorative term in itself. people have wanted to control who other people can love and how they can love each other for a long time--in fact, people still do...see "gay marriage", et al--and it's really hard for me to understand the impulse.
oh....t other half of this miscegenatin' couple is here, we're going to go out and get some vegan pizza or Indian food (not sure which yet...) so I'll stop this rambling that you likely aren't reading anyway =P
oh also, my brother passed the bar exam!!!!
